Q.
What is the floor space occupied by the setup ?
A. In a
typical setup with a 2m screen the footprint would be 3m x 4m OR 4m x 4m
depending on the size of truss used.
Q.
What is the height of the structure ?
A.
To allow people to walk through the screen comfortably without any
obstruction from the unit, the screen would be normally set up with a minimum
height of 2.5m from the floor. This will give a rigged height including
trussing of approx. 3.5m from the floor.
Q.
What is the size of the actual fog screen?
A.
The Fog Screen that shall be available
with us now will be 2m in width. The Height shall be from the start of the
unit to 10' below.
Q.
What is the size of the projection surface?
A.
The projection surface can extend to
entire width of the screen which is 2m(6.6 feet). However the
height of the projection surface will depend upon the aspect ratio
of the videos/ images. So if the aspect ratio maintained is 4:3
then the height shall be about 4.9 feet for a width of 6.6 feet.
It is also best to project within a height of about 5' to
6'.
Q.
Can regular short-throw projectors be used or is there a specified type?
A. All
Regular rear projections are fine. The
only requirement is lumens - the more the better. It is
recommended to use a projector of at least 7000 ANSI lumens,
however, more may be required if the ambient light is too high. A
dark background behind the projector is also recommended. It is
also recommended that the projectors have good key-stoning
properties since they shall be mounted at an angle with respect to
the projection center of the
screen.
Q.
Where is the projector placed? Is the holder of the projector part of
the setup equipment?
A.
Usually the projector will be hung
from the truss at a higher position than the screen so that the
projector is pointing down at a small angle. This is to ensure
that people do not stare into the bulb of the projector when going
through the screen. The projector holder will be part of the setup
equipment.
Q.
What are the other setup equipments like water tank/power/any other machinery
or equipment are required?
A.
We need to have a water source from where we could re-fill the water at regular
intervals. For installations which last a very long period of time (more than
12 hours of running) it is recommended that the water source is directly
connected to the water pump of the screen. We shall require a normal 220 V
power supply for the screen and the control units. Then of-course a projector
and a system to drive the projector.
Q.
How long can it remain on for?
A.
The FogScreen can keep running indefinitely. There are no limitations.
Q.
Are there any temperature or other ambient conditions specified?
A.
Operational temperature range is 5degC to 40degC. We also need to
ensure the absence of strong air currents created by A/C systems,
proximity to outdoor exits, or large pressure
differentials in entrance ways.
Q.
What is the time taken for setup and
dismantle?
A.
Setup time including building a truss is usually in the region of 3 - 4 hours.
Dismantling time is usually somewhat faster and would take between 1 and 2
hours typically.
Q.
What about the transportation of the
equipment and the
setup?
A.
We will take care of the
transportation of the equipment to the site and its
setup.
